Grid-Tie systems have no attached batteries or storage, in effect they use the Grid as their storage.
These PV systems either supplement the Grid Supply or Reverse the utility meter (sell excess power generated) and if designed correctly can offer close to 100% Self-Consumption usage (i.e. Nett-ZERO electricy bill).
